    Alexa Callaghan

Bachelor of Health Science and Masters of Podiatric Medicine from Western Sydney University

Alexa was very active when growing up, playing netball, basketball, athletics, dancing and swimming. As a result she sustained a range of lower limb injuries which lead her to seeing a Podiatrist when she was 10 years old. Following this, Alexa has always had a keen interest in trying to understand the movement (biomechanics) of the lower limb and how to treat and prevent injuries. Even now, Alexa is an active gym member who loves strength work and mobility training.

Since finishing university, Alexa has spent time training in new skills to give her patient‘s the highest care possible. These skills include Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy, Dry Needling/ Trigger Point Therapy and Foot Mobilisation Techniques. These treatments are used in conjunction with stretching, strengthening and orthoses – depending on each individual’s specific requirements.

Alexa also enjoys providing management for skin and nail conditions, including ingrown nails (conservative and surgical methods), callous and corn management.

Speak with your podiatrist about a variety of treatments available to assist with foot pain, including lower limb mobilisation & EMS. 🌺
